Maple syrup is made from the sap of the sugar maple, a tree that grows in Canada and the northern U.S. But warming temperatures mean sugar maple trees don’t grow as quickly as they once did. If the trees don’t grow fast enough, they won’t be the right size for extracting their sweet sap.
